Jussi Palmusaari (ed.) , Nicolas Schneider (ed.)Possibilities of Place in Continental Thought.Critique, Politics, PhilosophyPossibilities of Place in Continental Thought explores the critical potential of place in continental philosophy and tests the political and ontological value of this concept in order to overcome the limits of existing geographical and phenomenological approaches. Martin Nitsche contributed a chapter, "Phenomenology of Location and Localization: Emergent Places and Immersive Space. The contributions in this volume, which consider place as emergent, relational and enveloping, or in relation to passage, becoming or redemption, highlight the possibilities inherent in the philosophical use of place. By rejecting a singular and homogeneous theory of place, this volume breaks down the dichotomies that tend to characterize discourse about place in favor of a plural conceptualization. It draws attention to spatial and temporal dynamics within different theoretical and historical contexts and moves the field forward in a significant and fundamental way.
