Introduction into the work of Jacques Lacan
Workshop chaired by Daniel Roy the psychoanalyst, and the member of l’École de la Cause freudienne
SEXUALITY AND GENDER : PSYCHOANALYTIC PERSPECTIVE
"It is a destiny of adult talking being to diferentiate into men and women." Therefore, a definition of man includes his relation to woman and vice versa. They are not defined any other way which means that as a "man" or "woman" they have no other essence than that of a signifier. It is thus unimportant for one's sexual identity whether one consider him or herself to be a man or woman. Rather, it is defined by boys realizing the existence of women, and girls the existence of men. What consequences does it have for the actual encounter and the relation between sexes? Jacques Lacan, in his lectures from 1971, 1972, and 1973, begins to explore this question based on his analytics experience while returning to freudian theses enriched by his famous aphorism: "There is no sexual relationship."
Except Daniel Roy we will invite: Magdalena Kohout-Diaz with the casuistic « The young man and a matrace » Zuzana Svatošová (Pedagogical Faculty ChU) with her contribution « Gender as image and visual literacy»
