Annotation:
This course aims at introducing students, teachers and research scholars to phenomenological debates in ethics, embodiment, and language. It endeavours to examine the relation between phenomenology and care through intersections with enactive ethics and feminism. It also explores the relational dimension of phenomenology through discussion of embodiment. It will further examine the connection between phenomenological accounts of consciousness and Buddhist mindfulness. A significant part of this course will dwell on readings from classic phenomenological texts by Edmund Husserl and Edith Stein in European and global contexts. Sessions will include lectures and interactions. Participants would have to present research papers as a part of their course work.
