The complex relation between the state, civic society and market establishes a space where art can develop within cultural institutions. Yet, what is a cultural institution, what are its conditions, modalities and premises? What types of activities can a cultural institution generate within a public space? Do we consider cultural institutions as representatives of specific social values. If so, why? Are they eligible to comment on public issues more than anyone else? Do they posses a power to interveno or are they powerless? Is art stronger within an institution or rather when it is subversive and anarachic? The sociologist Tereza Stöckel, the member of the advisory board of the National Galery Josef Pleskot and Nataše Zichová from the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture CR will engage in discussion hosted by the philosopher from the Institute of Philosophy AS CR Alice Koubová.
