Jana Ndiaye Berankova is an architecture theorist, philosopher, writer, and publisher. In 2024-2025, she was a fellow at Columbia University’s Institute for Ideas and Imagination in Paris. She completed her PhD dissertation, titled “A Productive Misunderstanding? Architecture Theory and French Philosophy 1965 to 1990” in 2023 at Columbia University in New York (GSAPP). Before that, she studied at the École Normale Supérieure, École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales and Free University in Berlin, and Masaryk University in Brno. She runs the non-profit publishing house Suture Press (www.suturepress.com) focusing on carefully designed hardback books on continental philosophy, contemporary art, and architectural theory.
She is an editor of Alain Badiou, Sometimes, We Are Eternal (with Norma Hussey, 2019), Revolutions for the Future: May ’68 and the Prague Spring (with Nick Nesbitt and Michael Hauser, 2020) and Thinking the Infinite (with Jelica Sumic Riha and David Rabouin, 2021). Her book of interviews with Alain Badiou L’Éclat de l’absolu questioning the intersections between his philosophical system and the thinking of Plato, Hegel, Sartre, Althusser, Lacan, and Deleuze was published in 2025 by Suture Press.
