Jan Bierhanzl

Jan Bierhanzl is a researcher at the Departement of contemporary continental philosophy at Institute of philosophy of the Academy of Sciences CR and the lecturer of french philosophy in the Communicative module at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University in Prague. In his research he mostlly focuses on following areas: contemporary french philosophy, Emmanuel Levinas, ethics and politics, aesthetics. He wrote, among other works, the book La rupture du sens. Corps, langage et non-sens dans la pensée d'Emmanuel Levinas. In 2015, he won Otto Wichterle medal awarded by the Czech Academy of Science for exceptional scientific results to junior researchers under the age of 35 years.
